Swipe to Discover is built, designed, and shipped by a single person — a computer science student who wanted discovery to feel a little more like wandering and a little less like searching.

The person behind it

I'm a solo developer studying computer science, and Norellix Studio is the name I put on the things I build. There's no team behind the curtain, no office, no investors — just one person who cares about the details, writing code in the hours between lectures, assignments, and the occasional good night's sleep.

That means every screen you tap, every line of copy you read, and every place that surfaces in your feed was considered by an actual human who will personally read your email if you write in. It's a small operation on purpose.

Why I built it

I kept noticing that finding somewhere new had quietly become a chore — endless tabs, ranked lists, and reviews that all blur together. I wanted the opposite: one beautiful place at a time, the way you'd flip through a friend's recommendations. So I started building it, mostly to fix my own problem, and it grew into something I'm proud to ship.

How it's made

The app is written in React Native so it feels at home on your phone, backed by a small, carefully tuned TypeScript server. Studying computer science gives me the foundations; building a real product that people actually use teaches me everything the lectures don't. Every release is a little experiment in doing more with less.

This is a work in progress, and that's the fun of it. I'm steadily refining recommendations, smoothing the rough edges, and shipping the things people ask for most. If there's something you wish the app did, you're effectively talking straight to the developer — so don't be shy.
